Childhood Cancer awareness month is marked by Lions Clubs across Ireland annually in September. Newcastle Lions Club has an annual Daisy Dander along the promenade from the children’s playground to the cone of light. This year it will be on Saturday 12th September from 11am. Face painting and balloon painting will be a feature of the event. Every week in NI 3 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer and life turns upside down for them and their families. The Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social and therapeutic support to children and young people and families impacted by cancer, at home, in hospital and at the charity, with therapeutic short breaks at the Centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle. Beautiful crocheted daisies, made and donated by Creative Village, Dundrum will be on sale at this event. So come along with your families and friends for a wee dander along the promenade and support this great event.

Lion  members  with  Children's  Cancer  Home  fund  raiser, Aisling  Gibson, Lion President  Beth Cairnduff, PDG Marian  Mc Greevy, Erin Busby, Dan O'Reilly  and  Tom  Hughes promote the  Daisy  dander
