Recently the debrillator outside the Barbican Supervalu on Dundrum Road Newcastle was used. This is one of the 10 debrillators maintained by Newcastle Lions in the Newcastle area. Each time one of the machines is used there are parts which need replaced at a cost of £120. This is often met by using the funds raised by the Lions during their fund-raising efforts.
On this occasion the Barbican very kindly offered to pay the cost and the store manager Declan Donnan presented a cheque for £120 to the Lions president John McDonagh.
The Lions wish to thank Declan and the Barbican for this generous gesture.
On Saturday 12th April the Lions will be collecting in Newcastle and maintaining the debrillators is just one of the many causes supported by the Lions which benet from these collections. It is important to note that all money collected by the Lions on these occasions go to support charities. Please support the Lions in this effort.
