Newcastle Lions Annual Recycling and Reuse Collection

Newcastle Lions would like to thank those who generously donated items to their Annual collection on Saturday 10th May 2025. In total they received 10 sewing machines, 21 bicycles, about 60 spectacles and lots of tools.  They would also like to thank Newcastle Community Cinema for the use of their forecourt for the collection, Kieran Walsh of Seamus Walsh and Son Building Contractors Dundrum for transporting the bicycles to Cycle Recycle Newry where they will be refurbished and Tools for Solidarity who refurbish the tools and sewing machines before sending them off to support artisans in Africa. The spectacles will be added to the normal collections sent of every three months to Lions Medico France where they are refurbished and graded before being dispatched to Africa, Asia and South America through the network of Lions Clubs.
