Newcastle Lions launch Recycling Appeal

On  Wednesday  Newcastle  Lion members  gathered in  Castlewellan  Forest  Park, to begin  an  environmental  project, while there  the  club  with the  help of  Phillip  Campbell Council  Chairman of  NM&DDC launched  the  club's  annual  recycling  appeal on 21.3.26. The  club are asking  for  donations of  tools, sewing  machines both  electrical and  treadle and  glasses.  In  a first, five other Northern Ireland clubs, Downpatrick  ,Newry, Banbridge,  Limavady  and  Antrim  Coast will have  the  same  collection on  the  21st. All the  collected  items  will be despatched to Belfast  & Downpatrick  based  Tools  For  Solidarity. The products  will be serviced and  then shipped  to  Tanzania  & Malawi, where  TFS  volunteers will provide  training before  the  students purchase the  sewing  machines.
