Newcastle Lions Club are pleased to confirm that UTV celebrity Gerry Kelly would like to help Newcastle Lions Club with their fund raising.

The Lions will host a talk show with Gerry as their guest, interviewed by BBC's Rigsy on Friday 13th February 2026 at 7.30pm in the Newcastle Bowling Club.

The Kelly Show began in 1989 following Gerry's years as a primary schoolteacher in Downpatrick. Over a sixteen year period Gerry hosted 600 episodes, with one of his first guest's being the Beriut Hostage  Brian Keenan.

Supporting Gerry is a young magician Calain who recently appeared on the BBC's John Toal show.  The maximum number in the hall is eighty nine so tickets are limited. Tickets for the event are £15.00 or two for £25.00 and can obtained from Newcastle Lions Club members, ringing 07885 075207 or go to the Lions webpage https://www.lionsnewcastlecodown.org/  and click ‘Donate’ button. Please include your email address as the payment reference.

Lion president Beth Cairnduff hopes the event will be well supported and looks forward to everyone having an entertaining evening.
