Newcastle Lions Club promote Message In A Bottle (MIAB)
For many of us the only time we will have to give a list of the medication or allergies we have is when we are under pressure due to health problems and grateful that it is a member of the Ambulance Service, PSNI or Fire Service who is asking us. To help people with this, Newcastle Lions Club are promoting Message in a Bottle (MIAB).
In the bottle is a leaflet to be completed giving details of the medication you take and any allergies that you have. You can also list other important details, such as where is your medicine kept, who needs to be informed if you need to go to hospital, do any children need collecting from school, etc. If you take ill and the first responders come to help you, they see the sticker and know you have a MIAB giving details of your medication, and this is a help to them. Newcastle Lion members are visiting local pharmacists to offer these bottles for free.
